Randstad Canada released its list of the most in-demand jobs for 2020. While sales associate ranks at the top, the list includes a range of sectors, and four of the 10 roles are blue collar.

Randstad Canada’s list of top 10 most in-demand jobs for 2020 include:

1. Sales associate: C$38,200 to C$50,600 annual salary
2. Truck driver: C$36,650 to C$48,600 annual salary
3. Receptionist: C$32,300 to C$42,600 annual salary
4. Welder: C$19.60 to C$28.50 per hour
5. Full stack developer: C$60,600 to C$125,200 annual salary
6. Business development manager: C$93,500 to C$164,400 annual salary
7. General laborer: C$15.20 to C$19.30 per hour
8. Project manager in engineering: C$74,000 to C$134,000 annual salary
9. Heavy duty mechanic: C$25.20 to C$35.70 per hour
10. Merchandiser (consumer goods): C$57,300 to C$97,100 annual salary

“This year’s list of in-demand jobs is good news for younger Canadians pursuing the trades and practical courses,” said Patrick Poulin, president, staffing and inhouse, Randstad Canada. “While a college or university education is necessary for the engineering, marketing and IT roles we see on the list, a degree isn’t the only path to good, steady employment.”
