Randstad CFO to step down; other executive changes taking place

February 14, 2023

Randstad CFO Henry Schirmer will step down from the role as well as from the executive board, Randstad nv reported today. Schirmer will officially step down on March 28 during the annual general meeting. The move was one of several changes in top leadership announced today by the company.

To take over from Schirmer, the company has nominated Jorge Vazquez as CFO and executive board member. Vazquez joined Randstad in 2011 and most recently served as chief executive Southern Europe and Latin America. He has also served in the role of Randstad group controller and head of strategy.

The nomination is subject to shareholder approval during the annual general meeting.

Schirmer will act as a senior advisor to Randstad for the 12 months after he formally steps down.

The CFO change was not the only announcement by the company. Randstad also nominated Myriam Beatove Moreale to its executive board. Moreale joined the company in 2022 and is chief human resources officer.

Once shareholders approve the nominations, the executive board will comprise CEO Sander van ’t Noordende, Christ Heutink, Vazquez and Moreale.

Randstad also announced that Herman Nijns has been appointed as chief executive Southern Europe and Latin America, taking over from Vazquez. Nijns will take over the role on March 1; he is currently CEO of Randstad Belgium.

“I would like to thank Henry for his commitment and leadership to Randstad over the last five years, leading to outstanding revenue, profitability and value creation,” van ’t Noordende said. “Our new leadership composition will accelerate the impact that Randstad has on the working lives of people around the world. I am very pleased to congratulate Jorge and Myriam on their nominations to the executive board and Herman on his appointment to the executive leadership team.”

In addition, Randstad announced that two members of its supervisory board — Barbara Borra and Rudy Provoost — will step down at the annual general meeting.

Three have been nominated to serve on the supervisory board:

  • Cees 't Hart, who has been CEO of Carlsberg Group since 2015.
  • Laurence Debroux, who has been member of the executive board and CFO of Heineken from 2015 until 2021.
  • Jeroen Drost, who has been CEO of SHV Holdings since 2016.

Randstad also announced its fourth-quarter earnings today.
