Quebec-based AlliancePharma acquires pharmacy staffing firm

Quebec-based AlliancePharma Inc. (TSX VENTURE:APA) acquired Pro-J-Pharma, a firm specializing in personnel placement in pharmacies. The acquisition broadens AlliancePharma’s current personnel placement services for pharmacies and extends its geographic reach within Quebec.

The transaction took effect June 1. AlliancePharma acquired 100% of the shares of Pro-J-Pharma from principals François Théorêt and Guylaine Demontigny in consideration for 556,000 common shares of AlliancePharma. Théorêt and Demontigny will continue to be involved in the operations.

Pro-J-Pharma specializes in healthcare personnel placement and is headquartered in Saint-Eustache, Quebec. The company generated revenue of C$1.7 million and a net loss of C$16,000 for the year ended May 31, 2015.

AlliancePharma also announced a C$4 million private placement from Persistence Capital Partners and entered into definitive agreements to acquire generic pharmaceutical distribution company Pharmapar Inc. and medical communication agencyAgence L.I.V. Inc.
