Georgia Health News reports that healthcare staffing firm Jackson Healthcare received more than $40 million under a no-bid government contract to supply healthcare workers to fight Covid-19. Some critics say though the deal is legal, it raises ethical concerns because company Chairman and CEO Richard L. “Rick” Jackson, his companies, employees and immediate family have given roughly $1 million in campaign contributions to Georgia politicians, Georgia Health News reports. However, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Jackson denied that contributions influenced the decision to award the contract, according to the publication.
