Private equity firm acquires majority share of ATS provider iCIMS

August 21, 2018

Private equity firm Vista Equity Partners agreed to purchase a majority of the outstanding shares of applicant tracking system provider iCIMS Inc. The transaction is expected to close as soon as approvals are completed.

Susquehanna Growth Equity invested in iCIMS in 2012, with an additional investment in 2015. Susquehanna will remain a shareholder and serve on the board of directors; iCIMS Founder Colin Day will continue to serve on the board and as company CEO.

Additional details of the transaction were not disclosed.

iCIMS earlier this year acquired TextRecruit Inc., a platform that enables job seekers to apply for openings via text message and live chat as well as enables companies to communicate with employees over text message. The company also has an automated recruiter interface that can text and chat with candidates.

“Increasingly what separates top companies from their competition is their ability to identify, recruit and hire the best talent,” Brian Sheth, co-founder and president of Vista Equity Partners, said. “The competition for talent is only going to increase in the future.”

Vista Equity Partners currently invests in software, data, and technology companies. It has more than $31 billion in cumulative capital commitments, with investment size historically ranging from $20 million to more than $10 billion in equity capital.
