Possible change to Canadian temporary foreign workers cap (Calgary Herald)

June 20, 2016

Canada’s federal government is looking at changing a rule that would limit the number of low-wage temporary foreign workers to no more than 10% of the total workforce of Canadian businesses starting in July, the Calgary Herald reports. Employment Minister MaryAnn Mihychuk anticipates making an announcement on the issue soon after receiving the findings of a federal review of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. A report by the parliamentary committee examining the program is expected to be released within days.
