Phaidon promotes leader of North America operations to CEO role

November 04, 2016

Phaidon International, which ranks on this year’s list of fastest-growing staffing firms, promoted Harry Youtan to CEO from his former role as managing director of North America. He takes over the role from company founder Adam Buck, who will serve as executive chairman.

Phaidon is headquartered in London, but its US operations rank fourth on Staffing Industry Analysts 2016 annual list of fastest-growing US staffing firms.

“Harry Youtan has managed to build one of the fastest growing staffing firms in America, recognized both internally and externally, and I am very excited to see the success that follows Harry’s plans for the group,” Buck said.

The role of managing director of North America will go to Kieran Behan.

In other leadership changes, the firm named James Brown as managing director of Eurasia; COO Andrew McNeilis will move into the new position of chief commercial officer; and Stuart Batchelor, the group’s chief strategy officer, will step into the role of nonexecutive chairman, replacing Andy McRae who is stepping down after three years.

Phaidon also announced group revenues for its fiscal year 2015/2016 rose 48% year-over-year to more than £49 million (US$60.7 million).

“2016 has been a tremendous year for the group, and the numbers are testament to that,” Buck said. “A key focus of ours has been investing in the future; we launched offices in two new locations — Boston and Chicago, experienced 39% increase in group headcount to 380, further global deployment of our brands and secured our first institutional investment.”
