People: CareerBuilder, DHI, Active Staffing Services, BrightStar and more

CareerBuilder named Sasha Yablonovsky to its leadership team as executive VP of customer experience. She joined CareerBuilder in September. Yablonovsky most recently was VP of service delivery and VP of selling at ExelaTechnologies.

DHI Group Inc. (NYSE: DHX), which operates Dice and other job boards, added Michelle Marian to its executive team as chief marketing officer. Based in Denver, Marian has global responsibility for the company’s digital marketing strategy, demand generation and branding for its three services: Dice, eFinancialCareers and ClearanceJobs. Marian most recently managed global digital marketing at Crocs.

Active Staffing Services, a New York-based firm providing light industrial and office services staffing, named Delta Hazell as director of human resources. Hazell has more than 20 years of experience in management and recruiting roles and most recently was senior human resources manager for PEO Extensis Group.

BrightStar Care, a home care agency and medical staffing franchise, appointed Pete First to its executive team as the new VP of franchise development. First will be primarily responsible for the brand’s domestic franchise development. He previously spent 14 years at Winmark Corp., the franchisor for brands including Play It Again Sports, Once Upon A Child, Plato's Closet, Style Encore and Music Go Round. 

The National Labor Relations Board appointed Roxanne Rothschild as its new executive secretary, which is the chief administrative and judicial management officer of the NLRB. Rothschild joined as senior counsel on a board member’s staff in 2002 and joined the Office of the Executive Secretary in 2010; Rothschild has been deputy executive secretary since 2016.

Professional employer organization Insperity Inc. (NYSE: NSP) named Glenn McFerran as district manager of its new office in Pittsburgh. McFerran will be responsible for sales efforts throughout western Pennsylvania. He has more than 20 years of management, marketing and sales experience.

Legal search firm Major, Lindsey & Africa added Managing Director Tam Pham to its in-house legal recruiting team in San Francisco. Pham was part of MLA’s associate practice group in 2008; however, for the past seven years, she was director of attorney and client development at Paragon Legal. And Russell Reid joined Major, Lindsey & Africa as a managing director in the partner practice group, based in the firm’s New York office; Reid most recently was a global general counsel and head of the Americas’ business unit for Hemsley Fraser Group, based in Washington, DC.

The Bowdoin Group, a recruitment firm headquartered in Waltham, Mass., appointed Lori Smudsky as principal, talent acquisition services, based in San Francisco. Smudsky will be the firm’s first team member based on the West Coast and oversee talent acquisition support services. Smudsky most recently was talent acquisition lead in California for biotechnology company Intarcia Therapeutics; she previously owned a San Francisco Bay Area branch of the boutique executive recruiting franchise Corps Team/Mom Corps. 

Lucas Group, an Atlanta-based executive search firm, announced Jeff Moyer will lead its recently opened military transition branch within its Denver office. A US marine for 21 years, he joined Lucas Group as an account executive in 2004 and was promoted three times during his career before being elevated to managing partner.

SalesFirst Recruiting promoted Jeff Barker to VP, a more holistic leadership position than his prior role as director of sales and recruiting; he joined the company in 2014 as a recruiter and account executive. SalesFirst Recruiting provides sales professionals and marketing creatives in Portland, Ore., Phoenix and Denver.
