People: Avant, Pearl Interactive, Catalant and more

Catalant, a Boston-based online staffing platform, announced Shirley Sperling Paley will join the company as its first general counsel, effective Oct. 17. She will be responsible for negotiating client agreements and supporting the company’s legal needs as Catalant grows its customer base across new industry verticals and global markets. Paley most recently was the assistant general counsel and director of intellectual property for Demandware, now Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Central Florida-based Avant Healthcare Professionals named Brian Hudson as senior VP of sales and marketing. He most recently was VP of sales with Anthelio Healthcare Solutions, and was previously part of the Avant executive team from 2009 to 2011.

Pearl Interactive Network Inc., headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, hired Brian Nimmo as VP, federal business development. Pearl provides contact center staffing services, accessing a niche workforce of disabled veterans, veterans, military spouses, people with disabilities and people living in geographically challenged areas.

Steven Douglas Associates, a search and project-based professional services firm, added Juan Moreno to its South Florida team to launch a dedicated Latin America search practice. Prior to Steven Douglas, Moreno was a principal at a large, retained executive search firm in Canada, where he focused on providing talent to a variety of industries in Latin America. Steven Douglas also added John Sabo as director of recruiting to the technology staffing and consulting team. Sabo previously was a division leader for a national IT staffing firm.

Lucas Group, an Atlanta-based executive search firm, promoted Erik Kessinger to managing partner of the Atlanta manufacturing branch. He will spearhead its manufacturing, supply chain and engineering practice for the Southeast region. Kessinger joined Lucas Group in 2003 and most recently served as branch practice manager.

Executive search firm Korn Ferry International Inc. (NYSE: KFY) announced Michael Bell joined the firm as senior client partner in the global industrial practice in Korn Ferry’s Miami office. He most recently founded and co-led the global aviation, aerospace and defense practice at a global recruiting firm.
