IT staffing firm Akraya Inc. hired Bruce Schumikowski as VP, strategic partnerships. He will be responsible for new business development, driving revenue and building MSP and enterprise client partnerships. Schumikowski has held roles at Velocity Global LLC, Pro Unlimited and ZeroChaos; his experience also includes speaking engagements as a subject-matter expert panelist and moderator.

Executive search firm WittKieffer named Tom Richards as its new board chair. He has served on the board since 2013 and most recently was interim CEO of One BioMed, a Singapore-based molecular diagnostics company. Richards takes over the chair role from Dave Matheson, a senior advisor to Boston Consulting Group, who served on the board since 2013 and had been board chair since 2017. WittKieffer also added Camille Chang Gilmore and Natalie Derry as new board members. Chang Gilmore is VP of human resources and global chief DE&I officer for medical device and healthcare firm Boston Scientific. Derry is managing partner and practice leader, education, for WittKieffer International.

HCMC Legal, parent of Hire Counsel and Mestel & Co., appointed Greg Mazares to its board. Mazares’ career includes three decades of leadership experience in legal support services and technology; this includes senior roles at Litigation Sciences, Esquire Deposition Services, Spherion Legal Group, Encore Discovery Solutions, Epiq System and Discovia. He also served as global director of M&A at KLDiscovery.

Pedersen & Partners, an executive search and leadership consulting firm with offices in 50 countries, added Tammy Hawkins as client partner, head of western US and head of technology & digital – North America. Hawkins has more than 25 years of search experience and previously was VP and managing director for a US-based technology search firm. She is based in Los Angeles.

Christian & Timbers, an executive search firm serving the tech industry, added Douglas Gladstone as managing partner based in Washington DC. He previously was a partner at Comhar Partners and Odgers Berndtson, where he built and led their technology service practices. Gladstone splits his time between San Francisco and Washington DC.

Addison Group, which ranks on SIA’s list of largest US staffing firms, announced Branch Manager Skylar Varrichio has expanded IT staffing services to San Antonio. This vertical is in addition to the finance and accounting search and contract staffing services already in place.

Spherion Staffing and Recruiting announced Michael Chalmers on July 5 opened a new office in LaGrange, Georgia. The branch will target a variety of sectors including administration, light industrial and non-clinical healthcare. Chalmers has more than a decade of experience in the staffing industry and owns an additional four Spherion offices across Georgia and Alabama.
