People: Addison Group, CRN, PTS Advance, Talent International and more

Addison Group announced Michael Samuels joined the Chicago-based professional staffing firm as CFO. He will report directly to CEO Thomas Moran and partner with the management team on the firm’s evolution and strategic growth efforts. Samuels has more than 25 years of experience in finance, operations, strategy, integration and transformation; he has extensive experience with private equity and acquisitions – leading numerous negotiations and financial integrations. Samuels most recently was CFO and treasurer of Information Resources Inc., a global market research company headquartered in Chicago.

Staffing firm Solomon Page appointed Asad Balal as senior VP to lead a new Clinical Resource Network office in London and its expansion into overseas markets. Balal joined the company from Skills Alliance, where he acted as a global business leader the past five years. CRN provides clinical, biometrics and specialty segment consultants; it is one of fourteen divisions of Solomon Page, which ranks on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US staffing firms.

PTS Advance, which recently rebranded from PTS Staffing Solutions, appointed Jeanne Guzman Farias as account director – Gulf Coast in its energy and infrastructure division; her background includes business development for petrochemical and refinery engineering services, global key account management for a major operator, and capital project support – including In-plant staffing programs. Kyli Tamas will join Farias as account recruitment manager for the Gulf Coast operation; Tamas has more than 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, where she has recruited technical professionals and executives across project management, project controls, engineering, construction, commissioning, QHSE and maintenance disciplines. 

International IT recruitment group Talent International appointed Melissa Brown as global chief marketing officer. She will be relocating permanently to San Francisco to head up the Australia-based firm’s global marketing team. Brown most recently was Telstra’s global marketing head for field, content and digital within the enterprise division, based in Hong Kong. 

MedSource, a Houston-based clinical research organization, announced Billy Howell will lead its new business unit, MedSource Staffing Solutions; the new division provides clinical, technical, and executive professionals to life science organizations. Howell has been MedSource’s head of recruitment as director of client services for more than three years and brings more than 10 years of recruiting experience to the staffing division.

Raines International, a New York City-based executive search firm, announced changes to its leadership structure. COO Daniel Smith will become president and CEO. Founder and current CEO Bruce Raines will continue with the firm as senior managing director, focusing full-time on client and search management. Smith joined the firm in 2005 and has held a series of positions, including managing director since 2011 and COO since 2013.

Executive search firm ZRG Partners added Lambert Rugani as managing director and leader in the firm’s global technology officers practice. Rugani spent the past seven years with Spencer Stuart as a member of its technology officers practice; he previously had an extensive career in senior leadership with IBM.

Waltham Mass.-based WinterWyman promoted Tonya Salerno to partner in its finance, human resources and administration division, where she will continue to place talent in the Metropolitan New York area. Jane Davis Long and Brian Beaudry have also been promoted to partners in its finance and administration division. Long will serve the New England area; Beaudry was most recently a director in WinterWyman’s New York finance and administration division, where he will continue to oversee the group’s full recruitment staff.
