Penmac Staffing Services Inc. acquired Employment Resource Center Inc., a staffing firm serving central Minnesota, effective Monday. The acquisition includes all three Employment Resource Center offices — located in Brainerd, Wadena, and Hutchinson, Minn. — as well as a vendor-on-premise location in Hackensack, Minn.

Employment Resource Center clients are in the clerical, hospitality, construction, and industrial sectors, and the company has estimated 2017 revenue of $9 million.

This is the first acquisition for Springfield, Mo.-based Penmac Staffing. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Employment Resource Center locations will rebrand to Penmac over the course of the year. Chad and Jody Harting, who founded the firm in 2007, will not remain with Penmac but all other staff will stay.

Penmac targets the light industrial, clerical and education sectors and estimates 2017 revenue of approximately $115 million. With the addition of Employment Resource Center locations, Penmac now operates 36 offices in nine states.
