On Assignment Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) on Dec. 30 accepted the retirement of Michael McGowan, COO of the company and president of its Oxford Global Resources LLC subsidiary, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. He will remain an advisor to the company’s board of directors.

McGowan served as COO since 2012. He previously was president of Oxford Global Resources, which provides IT and engineering staffing. McGowan had served as president of Oxford Global Resources since 1998; On Assignment acquired the company in January 2007.

Separately, On Assignment announced today the rebranding of its US life sciences businesses — Lab Support and Valesta Clinical Research Solutions — as Apex Life Sciences. The divisions provide scientific, engineering and clinical research staffing and services. The new name leverages the national brand of Apex Systems, On Assignment’s IT staffing and services company and division.

“Lab Support and Valesta have long histories of providing top resources and solutions for science, engineering, and clinical research needs,” said David Lee, executive VP of Apex Life Sciences. “We are excited to rebrand our divisions as Apex Life Sciences and the continued opportunity to meet all of our clients’ needs.”

On Assignment also today announced a new logo, brand mark and website design.
