Nominations now accepted for millennials in staffing list

July 07, 2016

To commemorate the biggest generation (around 75.4 million) in the US workforce, Staffing Industry Analysts is creating a “Millennial in Staffing” list (for the first time) to be published in the October issue of Staffing Industry Review. This generation, also known as Gen Y, is the demographic cohort following Generation X. They have surpassed baby boomers as the nation’s largest living generation, according to population estimates released earlier this year by the US Census Bureau.

This list is not a ranking but a contemporary look at who in this generation is making a difference to the workforce solutions ecosystem. Sponsored by Monster, the list includes entrepreneurs, salespeople, recruiters, administrative gurus, geeks, legal pundits — in short, the movers and the shakers whom we need to keep an eye on as they mature and lead our industry forward. The list will contain those starting out influencing the industry for the better and others who have reached great heights.

Most researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to around 2000 to define millennials. For the purposes of this list, we will consider those born between 1982-2000.

Nominations are being accepted for the list, and a form for nominations is available online. For the purposes of the list, we look at millennials working in the industry and not as suppliers to staffing. There will be a website to accompany the feature in the magazine.

Nominations are being accepted online from today through July 26.
