Nearly 100 California drivers allege Lyft pays below minimum wage (Ars Technica)

December 14, 2018

Several dozen Lyft drivers across California on Wednesday filed a new labor lawsuit in federal court against the human cloud, ride-hailing company, alleging they are paid less than $8 per hour, according to Ars Technica. That’s less than the California minimum wage of $11 per hour, and even further below the mandated minimum wage in some of the state’s individual cities. Ars Technica reported the new independent contractor classification test resulting from the Dynamex lawsuit may help the judge determine who will prevail.
