More people fear technology will make their jobs obsolete, according to research by Gallup. In a new poll, 22% said they worry technology will make their jobs obsolete, up from 15%, the prior reading in 2021. By level of education, 24% of those without college feared tech will make their jobs obsolete compared to 20% of college graduates. Gallup noted ChatGPT may be changing the stereotype of computers can do in the workplace. βIt is no longer only about robots standing in for humans in warehouses and on assembly lines but has expanded to online programs conducting sophisticated language-based work, including writing computer code,β according to Gallup.
