Millennials prioritize pay, security and time off, ManpowerGroup finds

November 18, 2016

When considering where to work, millennials prioritize money, security and time off, according to new ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN) report based on a survey of 19,000 millennials in 25 countries, including the US, Canada and Mexico.

Millennials’ top five priorities when weighing where to work included:

  1. Money, 92%
  2. Security, 87%
  3. Holidays/time off, 86%
  4. Great people, 80%
  5. Flexible working, 79%

However, priorities can differ by country. Working with great people was important to 91% of millennials in Brazil but only 55% in Japan.

The survey also found that three-quarters of millennials surveyed are in a full-time job, but half are open to nontraditional forms of employment in the future.

Only 3% of millennials are working in an online platform/human cloud arrangement (Uber, TaskRabbit), but 8% would consider doing so in the future.
