Microsoft takes heat for recruiter’s email slang (USA Today)

July 08, 2016

“My crew is coming down from our HQ in Seattle to hang with you and the crowd,” a Microsoft recruiter wrote earlier this week in an invitation to a college student, USA Today reports. “There will be hella noms, lots of dranks, the best beats and just like last year, we’re breaking out the Yammer beer pong tables!” The invitation was posted online, and Microsoft issued an apology hours later, according to USA Today.

Slang terms used in the email, such as “bae,” “hella noms” and “drank,” are defined in an Art Technica article.
