April 06, 2018

The owner of four professional employer organizations in Troy, Mich., pleaded guilty on Tuesday to failing to pay more than $1.5 million in employment taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, the US Department of Justice announced.

Dino Rotondo did not pay employment tax withholdings from his PEOs collected during 2012 and the first quarter of 2013, according to the Department of Justice. Rotondo also did not pay employment taxes due for an additional business that he owned.

Rotondo faces up to five years in prison when he is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 18, 2019. He also faces restitution and monetary penalties.

Rotondo’s firms included People Plus Management Services Group LLC and four PEOs: Pinnacle HR Services LLC, Apex HR Services LLC, AS Holdings Group LLC and AS South LLC.
