AccessPoint, a Michigan-based professional employer organization, adds staffing and recruiting to its services with the acquisition of Advance Employment.

The transaction closed Friday and terms were not disclosed.

AccessPoint CEO Greg Packer will lead the overall organization with Blaine Schultz continuing in his role as president of Advance Employment. Advance Employment Chairman Guy Richardson and CEO Ron Reed will remain with the company in consulting roles.

The combined organization will be headquartered in Novi, Mich., with the Advance Employment team operating out of Lansing, Mich.

With the addition of Advance Employment’s 11 offices — nine in Michigan and one in Johnstown, Pa. —AccessPoint now has 15 offices and 111 staff members. It serves clients in 41 states.

“Part of what made so much sense with this merger is the fact that our combined office locations have almost no conflicts, giving us the opportunity to leverage our presence in each market using the strength of our respective reputations to be the industry leader in every market,” Packer said.

“This merger will create unprecedented opportunities for our clients to grow through the ability to focus on their core business while also being able to easily access the most talented workforce,” Schultz said. “We have an ideal solution now for smaller employers, charter schools, foreign-based companies, and larger manufacturing companies. With this merger we have substantially broadened our expertise and capacity."
