Media report says Beeline Jira database hacked, but event contained

March 06, 2023

Cybernews reported on March 1 that thieves had broken into a Beeline Jira database and published information. Beeline, a workforce management solutions company, told SIA in a statement today that the hack did not affect its internal systems or VMS platforms. Jira is an issue and project-tracking software.

“Beeline recently learned of unauthorized activity involving our Jira ticketing system,” Beeline said. “Jira is the system we use to support client service requests. We believe this event does not affect Beeline internal systems, nor any of the platforms we maintain including IQN VMS and Beeline VMS/Extended Workforce Platform. Our customers and partners should feel confident continuing daily operations and working within their Beeline or IQN environment.”

Beeline continued, “Maintaining the security and integrity of our clients’ information is paramount to Beeline. Upon learning of the incident, Beeline’s CTO, CISO and their team acted quickly and decisively to address the situation. Our response protocols were immediately enacted which contained the event and potentially affected parties were notified. We continue to investigate this activity, working alongside our risk and security teams.”
