Coral Springs, Fla.-based MedPartners Locum Tenens LLC is changing its corporate name to MPLT Healthcare. MedPartners Locum Tenens is a part of TekPartners/MedPartners, which ranks No. 71 on SIA’s list of largest US staffing firms with 2017 US staffing revenue of $226 million. The revenue measure was taken before the sale of the company's MedPartners HIM business to AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AMN) last April.

MedPartners HIM provided case management, clinical documentation improvement, medical coding and registry services to hospitals and physician groups. The sale was announced as a $195 million deal with an additional $20 million based on future performance.

MedPartners' rebrand, which it expects to complete by the end of the year, reflects the company’s expansion into new areas including advanced practice staffing solutions in addition to its existing locum tenens physician services.

“Our new name, MPLT Healthcare, will allow us to present ourselves and our expanded offerings to the public in a way that more accurately reflects our services,” CEO and founder Jay Mays said. “Our company has evolved to become more than just a locum tenens physician staffing firm as we have added an advanced practice division to our portfolio of services.”

MPLT provides physicians and advanced practice clinicians nationwide. It has more than 70 internal employees and two offices.
