IT staffing provider Mastech Digital Inc. (NYSE MKT: MHH) reported revenue edged down 0.9% in the third quarter to $34.3 million. However, gross margin improved to 20.1%.
The Pittsburgh-based firm reported demand for its staffing services was in-line with the previous quarter; however, a higher level of assignment ends resulted in an approximately 3% decline in its consultant-base during the quarter.
As part of a rebranding initiative, Mastech in September changed its name to Mastech Digital Inc. from Mastech Holdings Inc., reflecting its ongoing shift into a digital technologies company.

As our digital services gain further traction over the next several quarters, we expect that the pace at which we grow our business will accelerate as well.”
Share price and market cap
Shares in Mastech fell 4.18% in late morning trading today to $7.55. The company had a market cap of approximately $33.2 million, according to Yahoo.
