The Australian Defence Force extended its recruiting services contract with ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) for another two years. Minister for Defence Personnel Darren Chester announced the extension on Wednesday.

Described as one of the largest recruitment process outsourcing programs in the world, the contract will now run until late 2022.

“This contract extension is recognition of ManpowerGroup’s commitment to providing contemporary recruitment expertise in a way that enables the ADF to find and employ the right talent to serve our nation into the future,” Chester said.

ManpowerGroup first began working with the government in 2003 with the formation of the Defence Force Recruiting public-private collaboration.

The contract covers the entire recruiting process — including marketing, recruiting operations, medical and psychological assessments, and the coordination of selection boards and employment offers.

Defence Force Recruiting is managed from Canberra and has a candidate relationship management center and 16 recruiting centers across Australia. More than 40,000 candidates are processed annually to fill vacancies in the Australian Navy, Army and Air Force.

Director of Recruiting Services Glenn McPhee said ManpowerGroup was proud to deliver a unique and high performing solution for the ADF.

“Over the past six years, ManpowerGroup has worked closely with Defence to evolve the nature of the Defence Force Recruiting model and helped achieve some best practice outcomes for Australians from diverse backgrounds, as well as strengthen overall fill rates,” McPhee said.

The deal was last reported on by SIA in 2012 when a new RPO contract was signed worth $400 million over five years.
