MDstaffers acquired LAM and Associates, a Hawaii-based staffing company specializing in physician search.  

The transaction closed July 6; terms were not disclosed.

LAM and Associates serves 800 clients and provides 13,000 physicians. The brand will remain for at least the next year. Pat Lambrect, the founder and former CEO of LAM and Associates, plans to move into semi-retirement and pursue other interests.

“We were already a national company but didn’t have a huge presence in Hawaii,” CEO Tyler Covey said. “This acquisition really helps us have deep roots in Hawaii.”

MDstaffers is a physician and healthcare staffing agency specializing direct-hire placements. The California-based company places physicians and allied health specialists in permanent and temporary positions in hospitals and clinics nationally. MDstaffers has offices and staff in Berkeley, Sacramento and San Diego, Calif.; Fort Worth, Texas; and now Hawaii.
