The Austin, Texas, area posted the lowest unemployment rate among all large metropolitan areas in the US during the month of June, the US Department of Labor reported today. The unemployment rate in Austin was 3.3%.

Las Vegas recorded the highest unemployment rate among large metropolitan areas in June at 6.9%.

Among metropolitan areas of all sizes, the Sioux Falls, SD, area posted the lowest unemployment rate at 2.3%, and the El Centro, Calif., area posted the highest jobless rate at 23.7%.
