LogiGear acquires tech staffing provider True North Service

January 19, 2017

LogiGear, a software testing solutions firm headquartered in Foster City, Calif., acquired Seattle-based True North Service, which provides contract staffing and software testing services to technology companies.

The transaction closed Jan.1; terms were not disclosed.

True North Service primarily serves the wireless, app developer and ad agency segments. Staffing services account for roughly 30% of its business.

The True North Service brand will transition over to LogiGear’s brand. CEO Jeff Gough will remain on as an advisor for at least six months to assist with the transition of employees and clients, as well as provide perspective on the mobile industry and regional initiatives and opportunities.

The company will continue to provide staffing services, particularly in the northwest region. LogiGear has taken on staffing relationships with some large clients, according to the company, and plans to continue the staffing work that was being performed by True North Service.

“We’ve had expansion on our minds for some time, and as a Microsoft Visual Studio Partner, we have especially wanted to grow in the Pacific Northwest,” said LogiGear CEO Hung Nguyen. “Finding a company to acquire like True North Service has been a stroke of luck, providing us with an established customer base and location. We are excited about this acquisition and look forward to offering TNS’ customers with LogiGear’s full suite of testing, test automation and application development services.”

LogiGear serves software developers and software-powered smart device producers across a range of industries. Acquisitions remain a part of the company’s expansion plan, with interest in firms that complement its software testing service offerings and expand its regional presence.
