Legislators planning overhaul of H-1B visa program (The Mercury News)

January 02, 2018

A plan to reform H-1B visas, which bring highly skilled temporary workers into the US, is set to be discussed this year, and could put some firms at a disadvantage, according to The (San Jose, Calif.) Mercury News. One change would be requiring firms to pay workers a minimum of $90,000 per year or prove they previously attempted to hire American workers to fill the jobs. Right now, employers must pay a minimum of $60,000 per year.
