Despite a 2015 federal lawsuit brought by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan against three businesses for allegedly exploiting Latino immigrant workers in several states, the Chicago Sun Times reports an under-the-radar network of employment agencies is still active in connecting workers and restaurants. The lawsuit led to consent decrees resulting in thousands of dollars in back wages paid to some of the workers; a hearing on another decree is set for this week in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
