At least four major suppliers of automaker Hyundai Motor Co. and sister company Kia Corp. have used child labor at Alabama factories in recent years, Reuters reported. Staffing companies placed migrant minors in factories where children are not permitted to work, according to the news organization. Currently, state and federal organizations are looking into whether children have worked at as many as 12 additional manufacturers throughout the auto makers’ supply chain in the southern US state.
