Instacart doesn’t plan to replace its shoppers — the majority of which are independent contractors, according to a regulatory filing — with automation, CEO Fidji Simo said in an earnings call, Business Insider reported. Simo was responding to a question about automating the shopping process at the grocery delivery firm. Although some grocery operations are automating warehouses, Simo said Instacart is “much less bullish on this model.”
