Instacart’s CEO dispels misconceptions (Fortune)

The CEO of human cloud grovery delivery firm Instacart, Apoorva Mehta, said his company will be profitable within 12 months and rejected the comparison to Webvan, an online grocery company that shut down in 2001 after losing $830 million, Fortune reports. “Webvan failed 15 years ago, right?” he said on Wednesday at the annual TechCrunch Disrupt tech conference in San Francisco. “Lots of things have changed.”
