Indeed acquires job assessment tech provider

August 07, 2017

Job search site Indeed acquired Interviewed, an HR technology company that helps employers to identify and evaluate candidates. Indeed is a subsidiary of Recruit Co. Ltd., one of the world’s largest staffing firms.

Interviewed, founded in 2015 out of San Francisco, provides a series of automated job assessment tools including programming tests, personality assessments and language skills. Candidates can go through simulations that provide employers with insights into a candidate’s readiness and qualifications unique to a job.

The transaction closed Friday; terms were not disclosed.

“Indeed’s mission is to help people get jobs, and today we make it easy for millions of job seekers to find and apply to jobs all over the world,” said Indeed President Chris Hyams. “Interviewed’s technology is a natural extension, allowing job seekers to demonstrate their skills, and enabling employers to quickly and easily identify the best candidates for their roles.”

Interviewed has 12 employees and more than70 clients — including IBM, Clara Labs, Zillow and Thumbtack. All employees, including CEO Darren Nix and his co-founders Daniel O’Shea and Chris Bakke, will become Indeed employees as part of the acquisition.
