Some independent contractor drivers at gig economy work service platforms such as DoorDash, Uber and Instacart say they are being removed from the platforms without explanation, Business Insider reported. “They didn’t give me an opportunity to dispute or appeal. It was one and done,” a driver told Business Insider; the driver’s identity was not released. Meanwhile, the companies defended their decisions. Uber said it doesn’t take lightly the decision to deactivate independent contractor drivers.
