Health Carousel on Monday announced the acquisition of Lucidity Direct LLC, an online platform that connects locum tenens with open shifts at medical practices.

Plans call for Lucidity to continue operating under its own brand. Healthcare Carousel CEO Bill DeVille said the addition of the new firm will give physicians the choice of working with a digital-only, self-serve option or choosing a high-touch option from one of Health Carousel’s company’s other business lines.

“Right now, there is a one-size-fits-all approach to helping physicians find temporary assignments,” DeVille said. “Time is a precious commodity for physicians and Lucidity has proven that physicians are seeking a seamless digital solution to find temporary assignments.”

Lucidity was founded in 2016 by Dr. Rob Scott and Rajeev Dharmapurikar.

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Health Carousel was founded in 2004 in Cincinnati, and it has completed four other acquisitions since 2015, including the locum tenens division of Randstad Healthcare.
