Global employment industry revenue estimates (World Employment Confederation)

April 09, 2018

The World Employment Confederation — which represents the staffing industry on a global level — in a new report announced its estimate of revenue for the global employment industry was €491 billion (US$517.3 billion) in 2016. Agency work represented 71% of the global employment market sales in 2016 and grew by 10% year over year. The management service provider, or MSP, sector grew by 11% during 2016 for total revenue of €97 billion (US$102.20 billion). MSP represented 20% of the employment industry’s total revenue. The World Employment Confederation figure exceeds Staffing Industry Analysts’ estimate of US$429 billion for the global staffing market in 2016; however, the methodology used by both organizations is different.
