Gig economy conference kicks off today

September 12, 2017

The Collaboration in the Gig Economy conference starts this evening in Dallas. The event brings together technology suppliers, HR and procurement buyers and others to discuss the latest trends in the human cloud.

Panels will include discussions on legal developments, including a “moot court” hearing on issues faced by gig economy firms. The impact of artificial intelligence will also be discussed, and there will be a “Shark Tank” panel, during which a group of executives will hear presentations from five human cloud firms and vote on a “Gig Economy Innovation Award” winner. Other sessions include conversations with the talent, who will discuss how to get the best candidates on board, working with staffing firms and end users of contingent labor.

North of 600 attendees are expected at the conference at the Omni Dallas Hotel. It follows the CWS Summit for staffing buyers that began Monday morning, which brought in more than 1,000 attendees with discussions centered on leading a contingent workforce in a time of change.
