Gig economy can make it easier for some to evade child support (Governing)

Governing reported the gig economy along with the shift to contract work is making it easier for people to evade paying child support. States require employers to report new hires to a child support database to find people who owe child support, but not all states require reporting of independent contractors. And even in states that do require reporting, not all companies cooperate. Governing noted that 70% of child support payments come through wages.
