General Employment formally adopts GEE Group brand

General Employment Enterprises Inc. (NYSE MKT: JOB) formally changed its name to GEE Group Inc. to facilitate its focus on the IT and professional sectors. Shareholders approved the name change at the company’s annual meeting of shareholders on July 12. The Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based staffing firm had first announced the name change in May.

GEE Group is retaining the ticker symbol of “JOB” and will continue to trade on the NYSE MKT stock exchange, with the name change reflected in trading today.

“Our name change to GEE Group Inc. is transformational and reflective of a new era for the company,” Chairman and CEO Derek Dewan said, “that will more clearly reflect the company’s broad capability of delivering highly specialized staffing, consulting and human resources solutions through highly focused and dedicated service delivery groups in the information technology, healthcare, engineering and finance/accounting sectors.”

General Employment previously made news with several recent acquisitions, including Scribe Solutions, Agile Resources, Access Data Consulting and Paladin Consulting Inc.
