GEE Group names board member as president

April 07, 2017

GEE Group Inc. (NYSE MKT: JOB) named board member George Bajalia to the new role of president. Bajalia has served on GEE’s board since January 2015, and he will remain on the board although not as an independent director.

As president, Bajalia will report to Derek Dewan, chairman and CEO of the Naperville, Ill.-based staffing provider.

“Mr. Bajalia brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization,” Dewan said. “His experience as an executive in the professional staffing services sector and in managing the operations of a large-scale organization such as GEE as combined with our recently announced acquisition of SNI Companies will be most valuable to our company.”

Bajalia’s experience includes executive roles at MPS Group Inc., a firm that was acquired by Adecco in a deal that finalized in January 2010. His titles at MPS Group from 1998 to 2001 included president, CEO and chief operating officer.

In addition, Bajalia has more than 30 years of business experience. He stared as a certified public accountant at Peat Marwick in 1980.

“I look forward to working with the GEE and SNI teams to help them dominate their markets, further develop and empower account managers and recruiters to fuel organic growth including the expansion of our specialty branded staffing services and solutions in the legal, accounting/finance and technology sectors,” Bajalia said. “We will continue to complement our existing footprint nationally with de novo office openings and through strategic acquisitions.”

The combined GEE and SNI has almost $200 million in pro forma revenue.
