Freelancer management system Kalo adds execs from SAP, Zenefits and names exec to advisory board

October 13, 2017

Freelancer management system Kalo appointed former SAP executive Simon Gershey as chief technology officer and former Zenefits executive Kristin Goetterman as VP of global sales and customer success. The company also announced a new member of its advisory board — Betsy Morgan, former CEO of TheBlaze and The Huffington Post.

Gershey replaces Fergus Doyle in the CTO role. Gershey most recently was chief architect at software giant SAP; he also served as head of engineering for the social and mobile software at SAP and SuccessFactors with teams located in San Francisco, Vancouver, Seattle and Shanghai.

Goetterman’s role is a new position within Kalo. Before joining the firm, she led the customer success team at online HR benefits services firm Zenefits, managing a team of more than 100 people. Prior to Zenefits, Goetterman was senior director of account management at Gigya.

“Kalo has a huge opportunity to build a business structure designed for disruption,” Goetterman said. “I look forward to servicing these great brands on our platform and helping them embrace the new way to work.”

Kalo changed its name from Lystable earlier this year. The San Francisco-based company also reported that it added more than 80 large customers in the last year — including Airbnb, Sephora, The Economist, and ESPN — and has onboarded more than 60,000 freelancers.
