Former ManpowerGroup exec named president of Gifted Healthcare

Nurse staffing firm Gifted Healthcare hired Sheldon Schur as president, effective June 1. He replaces Kay Cowling, who assumed the role in January 2017 and will continue to work with the company as an executive advisor.

Gifted, headquartered in New Orleans, is owned and operated by nurses. It has seven offices, 110 corporate and branch internal staff, and more than 5,000 active nurses.

Schur began his career in healthcare and spent the last 20 years in the staffing industry. He most recently was VP and general manager of global sales for ManpowerGroup Inc. (NYSE: MAN)., overseeing a number of its most significant clients. Schur also was a board member for The Intensivist Group, a national provider of critical care services to community hospitals. He currently serves on the boards of The Hoffman Co. and UP Professionals Solutions.

The agency staffs travel and LTAC in contract positions at hospitals and long-term acute care facilities nationwide. Gifted also provides local per diem and long-term contract nursing through regional offices in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas and other niche markets. Its infusion division provides in-home, outpatient and clinic infusion therapy in multiple states.
