Firm with focus on gig economy worker benefits lands $23.5 million in series B funding

August 22, 2017

Stride Health, a firm that matches independent gig economy workers with benefits, announced a $23.5 million series B funding round. The capital will go to expanding the San Francisco-based company’s benefit offerings. The firm aims to give independent workers similar benefits to traditionally employed workers.

Health, vision and dental benefits are offered by the company as well as tax support.

“As individuals transition away from traditional 9-to-5 employment, we’re removing the barriers to affordable, accessible benefits to allow individuals to work how and when they want, without worrying about basic financial security,” co-founder and CEO Noah Lang said.

The company was launched in 2014. This funding round was led by F-Prime Capital Partners with participation of existing investors Venrock and New Enterprise Associates as well as new investors including Portag3 Ventures.
