Columbus, Ind.-based Elwood Staffing acquired Swanson Staffing, a commercial staffing firm serving northern Indiana and parts of Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Swanson Staffing served clients in the light industry arena, much like Elwood. The acquisition includes three Swanson Staffing branch offices in Indiana — Fort Wayne, LaPorte and Elkhart — and a branch in Sarasota, Fla.

The transaction closed Jan. 30; terms were not disclosed.

Elwood plans to rebrand all Swanson Staffing offices under the Elwood Staffing name immediately. There are no plans for field staff reductions at this time, but staff job titles may change to be reflective of Elwood’s organizational structure.

This marks the third acquisition for Elwood in the last year; the firm acquired Pennsylvania-based Berks & Beyond in July and commercial staffing firm White Staffing Management in June.

With the acquisition of Swanson Staffing, Elwood counts more than 275 service locations, annual revenue of approximately $900 million, employment of approximately 134,000 temporary associates annually, and partnerships with more than 6,000 companies annually. Elwood ranks No. 18 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2016 list of largest staffing firms in the US.
