Election day; Healthcare Staffing Summit gets underway

November 08, 2016

It’s Election Day, and Staffing Industry Analysts’ Healthcare Staffing Summit is also getting underway in Washington DC.

The conference will include keynote panel Wednesday on the election; titled “The Morning After: What the 2016 Election Means for Healthcare.” Staffing Industry Analysts President Barry Asin will moderate the panel, which will include former Vermont Governor Howard Dean and former Utah Governor Mike Leavitt.

The Healthcare Staffing Summit runs through Thursday

While the conference gets underway, voters head to the polls. In addition to the presidential race, several states have referendums on their ballots that could affect employers. The Society for Human Resource Management reports these include issues such as minimum wage increases and legalization of marijuana.

In another race that touches on the staffing industry, Michael Weinholtz, executive chairman and former CEO of healthcare staffing firm CHG Healthcare, is running for governor of Utah against incumbent Gary Herbert.
