Driver staffing firm TransForce Group buys Colorado-based school for truck drivers

November 29, 2021

TransForce Group, a provider of commercial driver staffing based in Alexandria, Virginia, acquired the United States Truck Driving School with operations in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The deal was announced last week though it closed on Oct. 18.

United States Truck Driving School is a full-service truck driving school. It was founded in 1958 by John Mauro, a former Indy 500 racecar driver. Today, its training centers in Denver and Colorado Springs have a fleet of 40 trucks and employ approximately 40 full-time employees. Plans call for the school to continue operating under the same name and become part of The CDL School, a TransForce Group company.

“The recent acquisition of United States Truck Driving School demonstrates our ongoing commitment to solving the driver shortage and to provide meaningful career opportunities for qualified [commercial driver’s license] candidates across the country,” said Dennis Cooke, president and CEO of TransForce Group.

TransForce Group is majority owned by private equity firm Palladium Equity Partners LLC. This marks TransForce Group’s 11th acquisition under Palladium’s ownership.
