Diversified Search acquires Koya Leadership Partners

June 11, 2019

Diversified Search announced today it acquired Koya Leadership Partners, a Boston-based executive search firm that operates in the nonprofit and higher education space. The deal took effect Monday.

The combined companies will have annual revenue of more than $80 million, according to Diversified Search.

Koya CEO and founder Katie Bouton will take on the role of president of Diversified Search, joining its leadership team of Judith von Seldeneck, founder and chair, and Dale Jones, CEO. However, plans call for Koya to continue to operate under its own name within Diversified’s portfolio of companies. Koya will also continue to operate out of Boston and its other offices.

“We believe that with Koya alongside us, we have a rare opportunity to build a unique model in today’s competitive environment,” von Seldeneck said.

Diversified has its own nonprofit and education practice; it expects Koya to complement that as well as other existing practices.

Koya is known for its track record in diversity and inclusion, according to Diversified. Koya also appeared in Staffing Industry Analysts’ List of Diversity Staffing Firms.

“We are thrilled to join with Diversified to re-imagine the impact a leading mission-driven executive search firm can have on our world,” Bouton said.

Terms of the transaction were not announced. Diversified also received an investment from ShoreView Industries, but the amount is not being made public.

Diversified has nine offices in the US and is headquartered in Philadelphia.
