Deel says Zavvy acquisition will expand global HR offerings

February 28, 2024

Deel, a global employer-of-record platform based in San Francisco, acquired Zavvy, a Munich, Germany-based firm that provides an AI-powered platform that automates Slack and Teams messages for onboarding and preboarding; the firm also facilitates training, engagement surveys and employee self-evaluations. All of Zavvy’s team members are joining Deel.

In addition, Deel said it’s making its Deel HR free for companies of any size. It had previously been free for up to 200 users. Deel said the announcement will position it as a single source for learning management, performance, HRIS and compliance knowledge.

Plans also call for integrating Zavvy’s technology into a new product suite called Deel Engage, which will cost $20 per month per user, the company said.

“It’s a perfect fit — our customers are looking for a one-stop-shop for all things HR, and Zavvy’s people management tools now fill in that missing piece of our global HR offering,” Deel co-founder and CEO Alex Bouaziz said.

Zavvy was founded in 2021 by Mehmet Yilmaz and Joshua Cornelius.

Update: The acquisition closed in February. Terms of the transaction were not announced. Everyone from Zavvy is joining Deel.
