Cross Country Healthcare revises Q3 forecast upward, acquires two locum tenens providers

September 14, 2022

Cross Country Healthcare Inc. (NASDAQ: CCRN), a Boca Raton, Florida-based healthcare staffing provider, raised its third-quarter guidance today and, on Tuesday, announced the acquisitions of two locum tenens providers.

The company now forecasts third-quarter revenue to be between $615 million and $625 million, a year-over-year increase of between 64% and 67%, according to a regulatory filing. Cross County’s previous forecast was for revenue of between $605 million and $615 million, an increase of between 61% and 64%.

In addition, Cross Country announced the purchase of substantially all the assets of Mint Medical Physician Staffing LP and Lotus Medical Staffing LLC.

Founded in 1996, Mint Medical Physician Staffing is a Houston-based provider of locum tenens. Lotus Medical Staffing is a locum tenens and permanent placement staffing provider based in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The transaction is expected to close in the last quarter of the year.

“As the first acquisition in 2022, we are thrilled to be adding the Mint and Lotus brands to our portfolio, which supports our strategy of becoming a dominant player in the locum tenens and advanced practitioner markets,” Cross Country Healthcare President and CEO John Martins said.

“Building scale in this large and growing part of the market allows us to deepen client relationships and gives access to additional clinicians, which we expect will drive stockholder value,” Martins said.
