Court rules fired recruiter owes $2.7 million, but fight may not be over (New York Law Journal)

March 26, 2018

Sharon Mahn, a former recruiter for Major, Lindsey and Africa, was ordered to pay back more than $2.7 million to the executive search firm, according to the New York Law Journal. Major, Linsey and Africa’s lawsuit claimed Mahn, who is CEO of her own firm now, took trade secrets. “We believe the decision [by the panel] is mistaken and manifestly unjust,” Mahn’s attorney, Edward Finkelstein, told the New York Law Journal. “As we argued to the [appeals] court, we believe the Final Award [by the arbitrator] violates public policy, ignores well-settled law and is tainted by significant undisclosed relationships and conflicts on the part of the arbitrator.”
